The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

After graduation from Penn State I got involved in Mexican archaeology through working there with Penn State professor William T. Sanders. I went on to get a PhD in that field at the University of Michigan. I taught in the Dept. of Anthropology and Museum of Anthropology at Michigan 1966-2006, and continued to do archaeological fieldwork in Mexico and Peru, with short field studies in Guatemala, Argentina, Bolivia, Egypt, Australia, and Mongolia. I retired from Michigan in 2006 as an Emeritus Professor/Emeritus Curator, and am now getting caught up on the big backlog of my previous fieldwork -- working up the final monographs on several projects carried out between 1969-2003. Mary Hrones and I were married in 1968, and we have one daughter, Apphia, now a professional translator.
